Anybody grind the key ring nub off their SAK?

I was playing with a climber earlier and it occurred to me. I never keep my SAK on keychain, and it really gets in the way of opening hook since I have trimmed nails. Has anybody done something like that?

Did it on my very first SAK with a smooth file and some side cutters.  Didn't take very long.

So it's been done before, well time to go put dremel to work.

Did it on an old Farmer that had a really chewed up attachment.  File and then wet and dry paper.

Me too.  I think I used side cuts and a file.  The metal isn't really that thick.

Yup!  Did to my first Scibeer Custom Pioneer with Scissors.  I knew I had to carry the knife as a user and it just kept getting in the way.  I believe I used side-cutters first then the dremel.  It was oh so easy.  I've been meaning to do it to my user Cadet, but it does not get in the way on the lighter knife as much and I've found I could use it as a pressure point a couple of times.  When I have space for working again I will likely trim at least one Cadet.... right after I make my first layer mod.

I like the key ring , as I like short lanyards . The lack of the ring is why I never got along with the otherwise excellent Soldier ( aside from the lack of a saw , it has all I really need ) .
