I didn't know the Core had a built in lanyard ring. Does the ST300 have one as well?

Best tool amongst a bunch of very nice tools on the Core is that big hunka hunka burnin AWL! My gawd just look at the SIZE of that monster!

The Core remains my favourite "big" multitool. No frills, no gimmicks, just an honest, serious tool.

Word of caution though it being a tough tool be careful how you close it I have broken the lock on the saw side twice now

First time I was using the saw and it snapped the second time saw seemed to go sideways a little and then snap the lock

and all I was doing this time was closing it

I am gonna try and get a ST300 for my Core as it is what it is being replaced by may have to wait as they are replacing them with the Surge right now $:-\$ I was really just wanting to keep the Core hopefully mine was just a bad one

Cause I usually am not 1 too bash Leatherman at all

I really liked the core I had for a short bit. Guess I will have to get another now, I liked the size of the blades best.

How does one actually use those lanyard rings? Any cord I tie to one interferes with the opening of the neighboring tools. The Wave's scissors and I think file on the Core come to mind.

I got my core, along with it's little flashlight companion. I like it! Nice and solid, the drivers worked great at removing stubborn screws.

I sharpened the blades on my Sharpmaker immediately, I can't stand blades that don't shave anymore lol. Of course I immediately put a nice deep cut on my thumb with the newly sharpened serrated blade while unboxing my new stove.

My only complaint with it is the "don't unfold it all the way, open a driver, then close it" flaw. Luckily I caught myself before breaking the lock.

One nice side effect, after wearing the Core for a week, if I wear my Spirit or Wave, I don't even notice them anymore! They're so tiny!

It's like the same kind of "shrinkage" that you seem to get when you carry a spyderco military for a while.

I do think that the core seems to have a bit better quality than the newer supertool 300 too, but I like the supertool's design better.
