I am happy to say that I can join the Super Tool 300 club now.

My first impressions are that it's kind of a piece of crap, but further inspection and time will tell how it is.

IMO, definetly better than the Core, but how much better is up to opinion.

I got the same leather sheath that was previously pictured on this thread.

I'll post some of my own pictures when I get to a computer as I am on the iPhone right now.

Something that I will for sure do though is use my Core's nylon sheath instead of this POS Surge leather thing.

Further inspection reveals that it's built a little netter than I thought. But I'm not really good at reviews, so honestly I look forward to a review being more professionally done and posted in the main MT.org site.

Actually, if you want an even better fitting sheath, go and get one that was made to fit the Super Tool 200.

Tried it this morning and it fits great. Even better than the Core Sheath.

The problem with the Core is that where the handles come to the pliers, they didnt make that skinnier like they did on the ST, ST 200, and ST 300.

I put my ST 300 in my BO Coated ST 200's sheath and it fits great.

I notice with the Core sheath that there is a lot of extra unused velcro on the closure flap-if that makes sense.

The ST 300 also fits great in the Core's leather sheath too if anyone is interested in knowing that.

Is the ST200 sheath the newer pleather or the orginal "nice" leather type?

I'm sure others will know for certain, but I'd think it's proper leather.  Certainly the Pulse (similar vintage) has a real leather sheath.

The ST200 hit sorta when they were changing from the good sheaths to the ones we have now ::) So you can get the new or old style if you look but I have looked forever for a old school ST200 leather sheath will little to no success :( I do have the old school nylon one though and will probably use it :tu: I may still give the Surge sheath a try first though ;)

Guess I'll join the 300 club too. Mine came in the mail on 9/12. BO with molle sheath. I really wanted to like this one but I'm havin' regrets. I love the blades & implements, but the handles, locks, & plier jaws just dont do it for me.

Glad you got the ST 300 and like it. I`ve been using mine since I received it and I`m growing quite fond of the ST 300.    :D

Permission to come aboard as a member. I believe I have my pass. ::)

close up of the smart clumping tab system that holds to main blade in place while the drivers are opened. On my sample it is held very tightly in place.

Some more shots of the ST300.

cutter removed. Held in place with locktight.

pliers compared to Core. ST300 on left and Core on right.

Here you can see the spot at the base of the main blade where the smart clumping system holds it in place.

It sure is a beffy tool.

I like it so far. It's pretty much what I expected. Mine has is very stiff and needs some working in like other new LM I have gotten recently. What I didn't expect is some of the poor finishing on it. My pliers have some marks and scratches on it. When I close the file it likes to hit the handles. O well.

I don't really blame him.

Don't get me wrong, it's definetly a tool you can really use, but the quality is simply not very good.

Okay, so I've heard about some scratches on the plier head, and a file that likes to rub. Not wonderful news certainly, but hardly enough to say the quality is not good and "a piece of crap" to quote your earlier post.

Are there more issues?

I wouldn't call it a piece of crap by any means.  It's not really scratches on the plier head so much as it being rough around all the edges. I have been playing with it all day and haven't found any issues. It was very tight but after some time opening and closing everything it is breaking in good.

 :pok:

No. Actually Im really starting to like it.

I have to say that the quality is better than my Core for sure.

Im going through other dilemmas now. Cant carry a multitool at work anymore because I have "real" tools and sort of got in trouble.

Was trying to NOT be happy about the ST 300. Its not working.

This thing is actually pretty awsome and I withdraw the "crap quality" comment. Unfortunately I cant edit my earlier posts.

I would never call it a piece of crap, it's just not what I hoped it to be. I guess my expectations were too high. :-\
