Dream knife..............

A custom version of Case's #94 pattern Gunboat Canoe in the 4.25" closed size. Built with one-piece stainless liners/bolsters which are angled, single grooved, and pinched on the ends. Fully mirror polished finished. I'd want it scaled in jet black, polished smooth Buffalo Horn with a inlayed and pinned nickle/silver nap-textured Arrowhead Shield.

Standard blade config of Spear mainblade and Sheepsfoot and Spey secondary blades all made of CPM154. All swedged and all with matchstiker pulls. Blades flat ground with a hand rubbed finish. Flush fit stainless pins, stout stainless backsprings with a seamless fit of blade spine to springs on all blades.

Yeah.....that would do it!

The Wenger system seems pretty solid on the new knives I've tried with it but on all the older second hand knives I've had with that system the lock is next to useless   so I'm very wary of it.

That may be it. My Wenger is older. Next time I'm at Bass Pro Shops I'll take a look at the new Wengers.

How heavy duty a locking system is necessary for a small pocket knife?

I don't know about "necessary" but I want to be able to stab a wild pig.

stabbing wild pigs is over rated... squirting flies is much more a challenge. the little buggers won't sit still long evough for a good squirt. especially during squirt season.

Boring answer but.... a full-size Goddard-Spyderco with a SV90 HG PE blade, Micarta handles and full steel liners.
