SOG in IRAQ
on: September 23, 2009, 07:55:43 PM
I bought a SOG PowerLock at the PX here in Baghdad last night for $57 and change.  While I doubt any multitool would hold would hold up very well day in and day out working on armored vehicles it turned out to be the right tool for the job today.  While away from the shop some solders need help getting an antenna sorted out on their Stryker APC, the PowerLock on my belt was the only tool at hand and was perfect cutting tie wraps, moving a coax, then tightening some clamps.  I like the SOG feature of being able to replace damaged blades or tools with a 1/4 drive.

You know, it would be really cool if you could take some pics of the tool in action down there.............I mean, it's nice too se a tool being used to fix everyday problems, but it’s way cooler to se the Powerlock being used in a warzone on tanks and other cool military hardware 8)

And please be safe and bring the Powerlock back home in good condition…………………….Yeah you all heard me, all I care about is the Powerlock ;) :salute:
There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives.

Would they let him take pictures of his working on armor? I doubt it, at least for security reasons if nothing else.

I also used my Powerlock to tighten some screws on the Ikea furniture that is used in our housing units, I could post that…

Cheers,

I used my SOG powerlock everyday while in the desert. As a Seabee most of the uses included duties consistant with a civilian construction site.  I have since upgraded to a powerassist.  I am currently putting it through its paces stateside.
