English Wallet MT
on: September 26, 2009, 05:57:05 PM
I saw this on UK Ebay thought that looks interesting , 7 Quid(delivered  :o :o :D :D) latter I have a new antique wallet pocket knife/MT.
The wallet tool was made by Richards of Sheffield, seller listed its manufacture date as the 60's
The only manufacture markings on the tool(s) that I have found , is on the blade 'Richards of Sheffield ' & what looks like a street lamp through the middle of the writing   .

Plastic is in exceptional condition.

All but the Phillips head driver snap into place with authority & no slop. I do not know why the Phillips head tool is sloppy when locked in    , it is still usable.

Both my Japanese & this English tool kits have metal sheaths for the blades , to protect the tool holding plastic/straps. A nice touch  :D

Richards used to be a big mass market manufacturer of pocket knives.  In the days when you could buy a souvenir penknife of just about any place you went most of the time it'd be a Richards.  I remember my brother having one from Jodrell Bank.  Wish he still had it :(

I've seen that set on my carboot hunts a few times though never in that good a condition.  Total bargain price you got it for Mat, well done  :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.
