I have no idea, but if LM do update the Blast, I'd like it to get a diamond file and pocket clip.

I've been thinking the same thing, an updated Blast with the same tool load out, no plastic, and the replaceable cutters.

Call it the PST III.

I'm thinking it would be more along the lines of an updated Pulse, which is in itself a sort of "third gen" PST.

How does the pulse compare? I like the idea of removable cutters, throw in the removable pocket clip and original leather style sheath and or original nylon and I would buy enough to supply an army.

My ideal Blast update would be removal of the zytel liners, beveled handle edges (ala' the Pulse), a pocket clip and the addition of a bit driver. Should make the overall package slimmer, lighter and easier to carry while remaining just as capable. I think the trend towards larger, "more capable" tools is really going to hurt the hobby in the long run.

Ah, spoony, see the bitchanger is where I disagree. One of the appeals of the Blast to me has always been its long reaching dedicated drivers.

However, I've always thought it should be an option. Get a Blast with the bit changer, or without. Just like Vic makes different combos in their Swisstools, why not in a Leatherman.

I flip-flop back and forth. After carrying a Spirit for awhile I find myself wanting more driver options. Of course, when I carry a bit driver model I find myself lamenting the stubbiness after a period of time.  :D

 not sure.... but, bigger is not always better and sometimes less is more. i would agree in principle were it not for the squirt and the micra yet i find them useless for my needs.
too much of a good thing, big or small, is too little.

Well if we're going to add and subtract. I'd go for a bit driver, pocket clip, better blade steel and an awl in the place of some of the screwdrivers. Oh yeah, thinner and no zytel.

Honestly I would like to see the following options in an MT by Leatherman.

1. Size of the PST
2. Removable carbide cutters
3. Pocket clip
4. Rounded handles
5. The tool selection to be removable for swapping purposes
6. Availble in SS or BO
7. Accessories to be purchased for updating modding.
