What software do you use to batch edit photographs ?

I have used both PS and PSE on my Mac and now I use PSE 100% of the time due to it's ease of use in processing batch photographs.

I find using the batch processing feature really saves a considerable amount of time along with some worthwhile features.

One feature I just started to explore is placing Watermarks on photos - I find more and more of my photos being used by others on eBay so I now watermark  and copyright my better photos to prevent this.

I recently download Aperture for the Mac to compare to PSE, and the jury is still out on that decision.

Any particular software you use to batch process photos?

I don't batch edit either.

However, all digital photographs should be post processed to bring out the best in the image. With film, it was done at the developer's (although most of the times, they sucked at it badly).

For example, all of my photos are sharpened a tad, +10 to contrast, and +20 to saturation. I don't batch process because I may add or take away from those average values depending on the photograph. It takes only seconds per photo once you have a workflow down path.

I normally wang them straight onto photobucket, totally unadulterated.

I did "touch up" some of those on my auction listings though.

I use jhead for Exif editing and ImageMagick for resizing, rotating, and various other tasks.

I generally have no need of batch processing these days but I clicked "other" as I don't use photoshop at the moment. It's a bloody enormous memory hog and I don't need it on my laptop!

I managed to download some wonderful freeware called Faststone which I can highly recommend. It can do the batch thing as well as a lot of other commonly needed functions. It's feature rich and compact, supports loads of file types and is free

Plus one for Faststone. I tried using GIMP but couldn't understand how to work it. Faststone does everything I need and it's pretty intuitive.

I use gimp on my Mac, love it.  I just use Mspaint on my PC, works very well for resizing.

I use google's picasa for a lot of resize/crop and minor adjusting.

for batch resizing for export, I typically use Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Fireworks

I have to say, I never got on with GIMP on the mac, the x11 interface just feels weird
