Can someone with a Fisher bullet space pen do me a favour please?

After having continuous issues with my space pen making ink bogies since I lost a small part in the cap (had some issues before but not as bad) I decided to contact the UK service dept to see if they can help me out.  After a few emails back and forth from a very helpful lady, the general thought was that there was no such part in the caps.

So now I am confused.   The part I am sure that fell out was a small plastic cap which fitted right down the end of the space pen lid.  Can someone with one please take a look to see if theirs has this as well as the lady didn't have a clue what I was on about.  My pen is quite old so I am wondering if this was maybe dropped on newer ones.

Thanks all.
I'm back!!

Looking down the lid of my space pen (bought about a year ago approx) there is a clear plastic part right at the bottom (if you took it out would probably stand about 5mm tall). In that there is a hole cut out with what looks like a piece of gold coloured metal where the nib would sit, when the lid is fully on. Hope this helps.

Thanks mate, sounds like the bit I need.  I'm guessing that bit stops the nib from being pressed on the end of the cap causing the pressure of the refill to force ink out.

I'm a bit surprised though that the service dept didn't even know about that bit.  ::)

Yeah thats what it looks like it does, as the plastic bit is slightly shaped (like the end of the lid itself) which would stop the nib from going to the end of the lid itself. Bit surprised that they couldn't have done the same thing    Anyway, it does now look as though that is the bit you need. Hopefully they will now just send you a replacement pen or the actual part itself.

Apparently they need it in to be "assessed"  ::).  What is annoying is that they are kinda doubting what I am saying as they keep questioning this plastic part.  All I want in another one to glue in.

Thats annoying >:(  For what its worth, they may as well just send you the little tiny bit of plastic and job done, but they probably have procedures to go through as most places do now :(  If you ever need a pic to prove the point just say and I'll try and get one done for you :D
