Candy racism ;)
on: October 05, 2009, 06:47:13 PM
Ladies and Not-so-Ladies, today I had a meeting in our capital and found a little candy shop there. It speSmurfpillsed on candy and other food from around the world. I just HAD to go in and try things.

Now, 10 hours later, there is hardly anything left and I´m angry. I just tried delicious candy from other countries, googled my favourites and found out that they are not available everywhere then in that candy shop here. For example, a Cherry ripe bar (the one we discussed here some time ago) is 2,50.- Euro there. ONE bar!
And Yorkie, a bar I really like too, is 2.20.-

And, not a candy but not available here too, 25gramms of Jack Links Beef Jerkey is... 3,20.- Euro! >:D

OK, I guess it is not easy to get good Original Mozart Balls or stuff like that in the USA, but it still sucks.

So people: Name your favourite "alien" food or candy that is hard to get where ever you live, so I don´t feel so alone with my problem   :twak:  :drink:

Mountain Dew, OK I know its a beverage but.

Until reasonably recently I couldn't get Reese's peanut butter cup cakes either though that has now been rectified  :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Beef jerky is always expensive, I'm afraid. :/  Have you looked on eBay or Amazon or some underground foodstuff forum? XD

At least you don't have a craving for Cheerwine or, worse yet, a regional restaurant, like White Castle, Rally's/Checkers, or Bojangles... even worse than that would be Sunni Sky's Ice Cream. ^^;  I went by that parlour on Saturday and got a triple scoop of pumpkin pie ice cream in a waffle cone... my first visit there in close to two years. @_@

I enjoy In-n-out, but none on the east coast.  As long as I am close to a chik-fil-a or bojangles I will be happy though.

I do get cravings for Cheerwine, and white castle.   Luckily I have a friend in North Carolina that comes up to Ohio to visit his daughter a couple times a year and brings me a 12 pack of Cheerwine . He was just here a couple weeks ago  :D.
Also get cravings for Curly Wurlys Bars but luckily there are some good folks on this site that have helped me out with that :D

Whenever I'm in Canada I have to stock up on Nestel Aero bars and Cadbury Crunchie

Local hometown Detroit favorites would be Faygo SodaPop, BetterMade Potato Chips, Vernor's Ginger Ale and a Coney Island on every corner.

I special ordered a case of Diet Cheerwine and had it shipped here to California. I love the stuff, only wish it didn't cost so much for me. :(

At least they aren't addicted to Mast General Store's root beer, ginger ale, or orange soda.  Or that homemade root beer like what I had up in Hillsville. @_@

I order Ginger and Black Licorice Altoids on-line because stores rarely stock them.
