Got a second SAK now
on: May 16, 2007, 02:16:13 AM
Well hopefully Inkster will be trading with me on the Cyclone for a Blue Alox Farmer. I have carried this one in my pocket now for over 15 years and it is finally getting to retire. It has been a continual friend and I am thinking of giving it a Viking sendoff. It is kinda a bummer, but I think it has earned a retirement.

I teach Map,compass, and survival for my state. We really frown on a folder of any kind for use in the bush,  but I allways had it on me. I cannot count  how many screws, slivers, trout and cans this has lived trough and I will hate to see it go. I guess it is kinda  a compliment to the Vic. company that this thing has lasted as long as it has.

Trusty old Spartan huh?  Great knives....

That small blade seems like it's seen the most use- did you ever use any of the other tools on it? :P

I allways used the small blade before even attempting to use the big blade so it would allways remain hair flinging sharp.

Do ya think I will like the farmer?

Well, you are giving up the small blade, which might hurt for you, but you are gaining a wood saw.  Honestly, I'd have to say that if you were looking for a good edc knife that was as functional as it is elegant, it would be very hard to beat the Farmer, and especially the blue one!

If you don't like it, let me know and I'll trade you something for it!

That is definately an old SAK! It has the engraved shield, instead of the current metal inlay they use.
