Hey, there is more to life then just Atwood tools.  :D  Please show us your favorite JDR tools.  :tu:  I'll get us started:

Even if you don't own one yet, which one is your favorite?

Joshua's bottle opener design works fantastic.  :tu:  I've said it before, but it really is the best bottle opener I've ever used.

The Hammerhead is next on my list as well.     :gimme:

GG,

You've had them in your hands.

How do they compare with the Atwoods?  (feel, finish, balance, tool quality, etc)?

Joshua is a friend of mine. We both used to collect Atwood tools and one day he said he was going to make some tools. I really didn't give it much thought as a lot of people tell me that.  :D Well... he started out small and every so often he would send me something. The early pieces were very good, but his work just kept getting better and better. I judge a tool by the mistakes that I find. Even a small mistake takes something away from the tool. I can now say the Joshua's work is equal to Peter Atwood and maybe even better because Joshua still makes everything by hand. No waterjet, no CNC, just good old blood, sweat, and tears.

I'm not just saying this becasue he is my friend (and he knows it  :D) but because I really believe in his work. I'm going to try and post a simple Youtube video of how the bottle opener works.  :tu: I know it looks a little unusual, but when you see how it works you'll be sold.

Love that design.  If he has a batch in the large size, I'm going after it.

I'd love to own a couple Atwoods, ok mainly just a bigshot, as well as a couple JDR's, thumbnail looks awesomely simplistic. I'm just kinda poor at the moment so they're backburnered until after the holidays.

Good thread....and you are right, Joshua is a GREAT guy to deal with.  He certainly helped out this Englishman  :salute:

Here is my JDR tool (Sorry I can't remember the name) I just know it is sharp as they come and fits great for a "thumb and finger" knife.

Here it is pictured next to the ubiquitous Atwood  ::)

Hey cool.  I haven't made any of those in awhile.  I'm hoping to get busy on more of the blades soon. :ahhh  I redesigned the Hammerhead into a package that's just a tad over 2 1/2", but have only made one so far.  They're in the works as well:)
Thanks for posting the pics. :tu:
