New forum features are on hold in favour of upgrades to the rest of the sites. ISP is doing major upgrades which are forcing us to also upgrade. Plus some other minor tweaks here and there for the show...

Like the go up and go down feature, but can we also add the forum break down on the bottom of the page? ex. Multitool.org > Tool Talk > Keychain & One Piece Tools, so when at the end of a long post instead of going up you can chose to go back to the swiss or lm section or the main directory.

I don't know what it is called, but on some forums I frequent, they have a feature where
you hold the pointer over the thread title and a little yellow box will pop up and show you
the first paragraph or so of the first post.

It is kind of a preview or something.I think it is real handy.

The are firefox addons to do that

One thing I'd like to be able to do is easily see which PM's I have read.

On other forum software (e.g. phpBB) you have to select each PM to "open" them, at which point the icon next to it in the list changes. I guess it's not that straightforward the way that SMF lists them already opened, so to speak  :-\
I used to come here a lot.

+1  :tu:

Another useful feature on other forums whereby you have a pop up telling you if you have a new PM. Sometimes you can miss a new PM straightaway.

May consider this as well as other suggestions now that it seems most of our growing pains of moving to the new server are sorted.

Would be nice if they released a final version of SMF 2.0 already as there's a bunch of great features I'd really like to be using now...

I know the forum is set up so you cannot modify your posts after a few hours and I understand the reasons for it  :salute:

However, would it be possible to turn this off in the Trade Forums? It will help people keep large sale threads tidy and update their title when it's all gone :D

I've read through quite a few before finding out at the very end that it's no longer there, or worse there is no indication whether it's there or not  :-\

The idea is that the original seller let's one of the mod's know that it's gone, and we'll modify the thread accordingly ::)

Neil's the only one I know who does it though :pok: :pok:
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

A simple "SOLD" post is sufficient if you ask me.

"Item A - SOLD" then.

If everytime something was sold the seller would just cut and paste and then add to the sold list, again that would seem acceptable to me.

Being able to modify the title if not the contents would work well but I can't imagine this option is available within the forum software.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

+1 Then you can decide whether or not to click through. If the title say's 'Sold' then there's no need to go further :)

Unless of course the mod's can check each thread and edit as necessary :D What else are they doing   :pok:

I'm with the boss on this one. There is no way to implement a change title only, it's all or none, and you can thank users that decided to go back and delete all their posts for the change from full to limited editing. The limited editing is to help prevent disputes, what is written stays written.

We did look at various trading/selling mods for the forum, but as the boss has pointed out, you can just sell on EDCSource.

Also as MikeLOS pointed out, the seller should just ask a mod to edit the title.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Still a pain in the butt for both seller and buyer thou, having to look through the entire thread just to find out if something has been sold or not.

Yeah yeah yeah I know about EDCS, but it's a lot of hassle of going through listing an auction for every single item.

It takes what though, 20 seconds?  And that's what I'd say is a thread of reasonable length.

Depends on the thread, and if any UK member participated in it.  >:D

Another thing about EDCS, a lot of them are listed starting at $1 but with hidden reserve, which I really dislike, what's the point of that? Just start at the lowest price you are willing to sell.

Hmm, what about just letting people lock their own topics?  I know that is an option in some forum software.

This feature is for EDCSource; is it possible to have an option that to change the currency i.e. when I look as stuff sold by Tim it will appear in £'s  :tu:  Maybe have it saved in your profile :)

It may not be totally accurate but it will help :D
