I'd like to hold off on any further new features until the new forum software comes out... adding more stuff now is only going to make upgrading more of a nightmare.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

With EDCS around the corner we don't really need such a feature... but then again, the Feedback forum at its current state provides little insight to one's fair play in trades. I mean, besides the well-known guys and frequent posters (e.g. Neil, John, Zack, ...), finding feedback info for some random forumite can be a pain. A member "score" would be a pretty good and concise way of checking one's good conduct in trades etc.

Depends on the thread, and if any UK member participated in it.  >:D

Another thing about EDCS, a lot of them are listed starting at $1 but with hidden reserve, which I really dislike, what's the point of that? Just start at the lowest price you are willing to sell.

That's something you'd have to take up with individual sellers.  EDCSource is about not dictating how people do business.

If we just had one thread for one member and everyone would use that then it would be a little bit easier.

That would ruin some of the fun I think..
A quick search in Feedback gave 12 hits on "Medic82" and shows you're actually a great guy to deal with..  :)

Luckily we're surrounded by good people here and there if far between real problems here..

Ahhhhh, the search function…………The forgotten function on almost every forum. I hardly use it so it’s a small party every time I re-discover it.

Don't know where to post this just a little question: Do we have an MTO patch?

I know this is somewhat of a strange request, but I'd like the Multitools for Sale thread be made invisible to those not logged in, or at least prevent Google from caching the pages and making them available to Google searches. :/

Nah, it's no big secret, I just wonder if by having it available to view prior to logging in or registering if it could entice people to join only to purchase or sell items without really contributing to the wonderful randomness that's MT.O; it was just a random thought, actually, so don't mind me, Grant. ^^; :)

Isn't that similiar to what EDC Forums do? You cannot view the sales forum until you have 15 posts. I have seen a few people posting random posts just to hit 15. Posts like 'Yes, I agree Leathermans are good' etc.  ::)

I quite like the way MTO isn't as restrictive as many other forums out there but appreciate the need to be 'wary' of new sellers. Although we were all new once :)

Didn't mean it quite like that Sazabi :)

British Blades Forum do it another way which I think is quite good.

To see the sales forum you need register. After that you can view all and buy from other members. If you want to sell or post a thread in the sale forum you must either have a post count of 100+ or be a subscribing member.

They also use an effective feedback system similiar to ebay to help make a decsion on your possible purchase / sale :D

I suppose if all forums were the same it would be a very boring place :)

i can see how it would be frustrating to have people join only to buy something or sell something due to that section being googleable. however, I might not have discovered this site without random google pages, so I am not sure if blocking that is a good idea.  It is a good idea to be an active member before dealing, but I am sure anyone on here has the sense not to deal with someone without getting information from them, and hopefully integrating them into the community.  However we can hook 'em!

Whoops, I kinda forgot to respond again. ^^;  I just figure that, like making the Deals & Auctions forum invisible until log in, that it would simply make the site a bit easier in terms of having people join because they want to learn more about multitools and the like; the buying and selling forums just being gravy. :)
