Metal bottles seem to have become popular with the Nalgene BPA issue.  I think for the amount you would drink in the outdoors it's not something I would worry about.  Metal ones are more expensive but just as light weight.  One possible advantage, I wonder if you can boil water right in the metal bottle.

What's funny is that some of the older SIGG bottles that are lined contain BPA in their plastic liners.

Seems that if you want a metal water bottle to boil in for purification you wouldn't want the lining.

I have used the Klean Kanteen for the past six months, and I find them great value for the money, I now bought one for each of the family, including the unborn boy! It is simple, not too dear, spare caps are easily available, and its been through a lot of hiking and working, and I have NO complaints about it.

Thanks -- I guess i was watching too much "Man vs. Wild" when I drew those. Back on the subject -- go with the Klean Kanteen. Love mine!
