At work today there was a customer who had a Leatherman sheath on him (the ones that fit the wave and charge but are nylon) and I could tell something was odd. It was not a Leatherman in there but something else, I watch him for a min and come to the conclusion it's a Gerber 400 Compact. How do I guess this? Gerber's are the only tools with sliding heads and the head was peeking out the bottom hole in the sheath and only one brand of tools does that with the tool closed up. So when he comes to me for a charge slip (he is from the school) I ask him if he's carrying a Gerber 400 in that Leatherman sheath or am I just crazy? He looks at me with a strange look and says, how did you know it's a Gerber in there? I find out he had a Leatherman but it was stolen from him while at work and he put a Gerber in there instead. Had to let me know about us and how I could tell what he was packin' in spite of the camouflage
