Honestly, I wouldn't even want 225 lumens on a headlight.  Have you ever used a bright headlight in dusty or foggy conditions?  It makes me go cross-eyed.  The light source needs to be further away from the eyes, IMO.

I can't see that being much use either :-\

It was the lengthy runtimes on the lower setting's that really piqued my interest :)

What I mean is, I don't like headlamps to be "throwers".  I usually use a dimmer, floody headlamp and keep a thrower in my hand or pocket for short bursts.

It sounds impressive but I don't think I'll bother.  I'm still very happy with the modded Princeton Tec I bought off Terry last year.  Its a very practical headlight.  :tu:
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Little more powerful than I would want on my forehead!

However, looks useful. Can't figure out from the pic whether the batteries are housed separately or are up front under the lens - would be a bit heavy I think.

Looking at the cable I'd assume a pack at the back.

I much prefer the Zebralight idea where you can quickly take it off and use it as a normal flashlight.
I'm back!!

If you can strap it on to a cycling helmet, I can see it being pretty useful on a bicycle :)

It's in a pack behind.

That's what I don't like about these headlamps, too heavy with a battery pack strapped to back of head. I now use a PT apex extreme that has a 8AA belt pack, will literally run all night at max too.
