1jump2many that a nice one. I like the plier heads from that period of time.

It's OK, nothing like the likes of many of yours.  How old is the Cabela's logo'd PST you have?  Weren't the first PST's made for Cabela's?  You and DaveK seem to have the PST market cornered.

The Cabelas logoed has date codes are 0303, 0503 so its not very old. Smitty has the oldest Cabelas logoed PST its very early. He`ll have to chime in to tell how old I forget.
My first PST was out of the 1983 Xmas catalog,I beleive they only made 500 for there first run,it has US pat.4238862,and they didn't have metric, only inch's on the side.

  :drink:& :salute:

I take it the Cabela's PST isn't the one you carried during DS/DS?  The one I pictured is the one I ordered and received during Desert Shield.  Tha is how I know what year I got it.  It's my first MT and the only PST I own.

I carried it from late 83 thru DS/DS till 1996,then picked up the PST II,and carried it untill I joined the forums, now I rotate about 13 different LM's and one Vic Spirit.

Here are the ones that I have right now. I can't see myself buying others unless they are drastically different.

A little Leatherman information.

So is that the original Cabela's PST or is that a Special Edition version?

Im cooking up something in my head at the moment and curious about the little flat tab on psts that hold the blades tight.  If a slot was cut into each tool would the tabs have enough meat to be bent over enough to have super tool style locks? My PST is on the way back from warranty work so I dont have mine to look.

It would be extremely difficult to put a tight 90-degree bend into those tabs methinks. :-\
