The SAK Pass-Around Photo Thread!
on: October 25, 2009, 03:06:14 AM
Hi guys! Been carrying around the two Wenger SAKs I recieved from Zack for our little passaround. I'm in rural Alabama and wanted to take some pictures to illustrate my area. Today I drove down to a popular local hangout; called the Connector Bridge this area is down one of the many rough red-dirt roads that run through our state.

They tend to beat up the suspension of your car, are pretty much worthless for biking and coat your car with a wonderful red mud that is quite difficult to wash off. Our state police force was actually founded to patrol these unpaved roads.

Along the drive you may notice the pockmarked road signs. They often serve as entertainment for back country gents and their rifles or shotguns and quick targets for hunters stomping through the woods. Pretty good grouping here.

Here's our destination, a creaky wooden bridge that shakes tremendously when the trains run underneath. It is quite an experience on a late Saturday night when you've had a few beers. The locomotive blasts it's horn and roars mere feet below you.

On the way out I stopped at a little creek with some nice rock outcroppings.

Check for animal tracks, looks like some woodland creature strolled through here.

A little SAK scuba diving.

Thanks for coming along on my little trip. I'll pack these guys up and have them out to the next participant on Monday morning.

The smaller Wenger was a gift to you.  Nice pics by the way, can't wait to see more.

Well thanks a lot! Now I'll just have to include a gift for the next person in the passaround.  ;)

I also live in Alabama on the Gulf of Mexico coast - no red clay roads here - just 32 miles of sandy beaches !

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

Oh, and the little Wenger really isn't a Wenger at all.  Its a Vic clad in Wenger scales.  But of course we all knew that by looking at the combo tool.

Edit: I know funds are low for some of us, so don't feel obligated to send a gift with the tool.  I just liked the idea of getting to keep something and sending something.

The western part. About 5 miles from the Georgia state line.

I took the passaround to work last night to show my coworkers some SAK goodness. Here it is relaxing on an endcap while i go over some electrical blueprints.

I used it  to tighten a couple of screws in our newest addition to one of our flagship stores...The DJ Lifestyle! We are installing some new DJ equipment for Houstons ongoing love affair with loud obnoxious music. :o :D
So everyone knows....the Wenger got put to work here in Texas ;)

So that's enough for me....tomorrow its going to the Post Office on its way again...with a little something extra for our next lucky participant.

And it's off on its way to ari6126. Blackout asked me to skip over 'em as he is not in town for a couple of weeks.

This passaround was a great idea.. :tu: :salute:

I tried to mail it off yesterday but the PO was closed due to Veteran's Day. :P

Having never owned a Wenger i dare say i'm a fan now. Build and finish was on par with Vic and it seemed to have that high quality feel one would want in a SAK. I added a little passaround addition for the next guy to have fun with. I look forward to seeing other folks pics. Wish i could have had better pics but working 12 hour overnights killed my fun a bit.....good for the paycheck though :D

I used the Tradesman today to open some ginger beer. I love ginger beer. I also used the main blade to open some mail. For the sake of the passaround, it has temporarily replaced my Locksmith as my primary bladed knife. My Locksmith isn't happy with it. Pictures are still coming. I will try to get a picture of it with the New Mexico sunset. Do I send it to Blackout or Scrappy next?

If Blackout is available you can send it to him, then to scrappy.  If not then send to scrappy and we'll catch Blackout on the way back.
