Very nice danbomb

It's a cost saving measure. The blades on the Freestyle models were the complete opposite as the blades on the Skeletool models. Why Leatherman decided to do that with the Freestyle is a mystery. Since both MT's are very close in design it only makes sense to use the same blades on both CX models and standard models to save money.
I disagree. If they'd simply want to save money, they would have used the original Skeletool blades for the Freestyles.
To switch them (they announced that the Skeletool blades were changing at the same time as the Freestyle was launched) added cost, so I guess it was due to customer feedback. I recall most on here thought the premium blade should be PE.
