surge/st300 hybrid
on: October 20, 2009, 07:35:45 PM
I dont know if this has been asked or posted yet, has any one tried to put a st300 plier on a surge yet? The size looks about the same and I noticed the 300's plier head has the ramps that lock the blade on the surge when the pliers are opened.

Probably too early for people to have already ripped them apart for modding.

Not really... :D

They basically fit, but you can't close the Surge properly due to the ST300's pliers being wider.

See for yourself!

Well, there you go then.

A little grinding and it looks like it may work altogeather.

But do you really think that the 300's pliers are that much stronger than the surge pliers?

I really don't. They look different though.

Well, they are certainly beefier, so I'd expect that they are stronger in some ways, but the tips are pretty similar so there'd be no advantage there.

I am willing to say that they are working on making it fit the Surge possibly a few other of there MTs cause in the long run will save on them having to fix the cutters under warranty :D

Thanks for the visuals Dave :tu:

Or maybe it's possible that the Surge's design may change a little bit.
