I broke my Sideclip

 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

I snapped the blade carving a pumpkin the other day , I can't believe how easily it snapped  :-[  I've sent it to Whitby and co who are the British LM agents . I phoned them first to find out if they still have a Sideclip blade instock as I didn't want a Kick as a replacement . I'll let you all know how it goes .

never carve in a "petrified" pumpkin! that sucks buddy I hope it gets taken care of.

maybe a micro defect in the blade? did you take pictures of the break?

I was just writing about this and how you never know if a tool can "take it" until you give it!
why I like testing all my stuff/tools; you never know.
judge others by how they treat those they are allowed to mistreat

A similar thing happened to my original PST.  The blade simply snapped off clean near its base.  I figured it HAD to be a metallurgical flaw.

Were you twisting the blade at all, or just "sawing" through the pumpkin?

Either way, cutting a vegetable isn't considered abuse in my book :D

Tough luck, that right there is why I don't get a Sideclip. I used to have one until my ex-wife took it. I loved it but now that they're discontinued and getting difficult to get I don't want to get one and use it as I'd be afraid of breaking it. I wish LM would come out with a modern version of it. I know the Skeletool is kind of a "Spiritual successor" to it but it's high price turns some people off. I'd love a slimmer, smoother Kick with a pocket clip.

If they can't fix your blade I feel this article from Equipped.org may be of help to you: How I Altered My Leatherman PST II.
