Got a strange one the other day

My wife found this and thought I would like it. It says Heinz 57 on one side and then directions for the bottle opener and cap lifter on the other. Other than that now marks. Sturdy little thing. The cap lifter works good a flat head screwdriver.

I'm trying to figure the age of the thing. The directions for the jar opener says it for use of pryoff jar caps. What are pryoff jar caps. Do they still make such things.

If I'm not mistaken, heinz & such used to have bottlecaps similar to beer caps. Could be wrong.

It looks like it would work on those jars that my mom used to use to pickle stuff in. The kind with the two lids where you had to pry off the top after unscrewing the top. Like this one.

That flathead part of the tool might have been to pry up that cap that's usually tough to get off or hard to do with a fingernail.

This is the pry-up style of lid on the Welch's jelly glasses.

I also remember shrimp cocktail in small stemmed glasses/jars with this type of lid.
