"Well, well, well, what do we have here?  Baby squirrel!  Mmmmm, I just love baby squirrels!"

Mama to the rescue, "Take that, foul canine!  Unhand my baby!"

"WTF?  Owowow, that hurts!"

"Come back!  This ain't over!  Sooner or later I'm gonna catch up with you two squirrels."

That dog is lucky that squirrel didn't rip him apart.

I saw a furious ball of seething rage tear apart a colleagues arm whilst doing a small mammal study in the Elliot Lake region of Northern Ontario. They are cute and cuddly looking, but have super long and sharp claws, and are all muscle. He made the mistake of trying to remove one from a Havahart trap without using thick leather gloves. I swear that squirrel laughed its ass off at him as it went its merry way leaving him to bleed all over the place. We had to take him to the hospital, and 10 stitches later he was good as new and a bit wiser with a lesson learned the hard way.

Fantastic series of photographs.
A little Leatherman information.

We have a park near us where all the squirrels were hand tame (that all changed unfortunately). My friend was several miles away from this park and saw a squirrel. Thinking that clearly all squirrel are nice enough to sit in your hand in exchange for snacks, he held out his hand. The squirrel came closer, cocked it's head to one side very cutely and then leapt onto his hand and savaged his index finger. The little git hung on as he tried to shake it off (thus making more of a mess of his finger).

All creatures should know that squirrels lie...they are sharp!  :ahhh

That dog was taken by surprise and didn't react fast enough.

Once had a dog that was fascinated by squirrels.  He was content to spend hours at a time observing and stalking squirrels in the fenced in yard.  He killed them on a regular basis, then brought them as trophies to the front porch.

Some dogs are just natural born killers.  He must have killed hundreds of squirrels over the years, along with countless birds, rabbits, raccoons, possums, etc.  He rarely sustained any damage from his prey, beyond an occasional cut on his muzzle.

Once met a hunter who was missing the last digit of a little finger due to it having been bitten off by a squirrel he had picked up, thinking it was dead.

Sorry to call you out on this man, but that's not a Chipmunk.  It's a Golden-Mantled Ground Squirrel.  Chipmunks have stripes around their eyes.

The top three are pretty darned cute for fish.

The bottom pic of the stone fish - not so cute.  Don't those guys have super-toxic venom that'll kill you right quick?

Adorable little Yorkie!

I'm not much for small dogs, but I never met a Yorkie I didn't like.  They have a big dog attitude, just in a more convenient package!
