Thanks for those pics! Puts the size into perspective!

I've heard the sheafs (is that the right word?) on the Gerbers aren't too great. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Hobit :)

As much as I love Leatherman tools, I would be lying if I claimed their current sheaths were any better than Gerber!

Any sheath you get you will be able to manage with for a while, before you get a clear idea of what you might like - i.e. they'll all work. I wouldn't let the sheath influence the tool I bought, as they only account for 10% of what you'll pay, and you can always pick them up cheaply or trade them here.

I personally quite like the Nylon sheath that comes with the Wave, but some on here don't like the Velcro much - it ruins the element of surprise whist out Ninja'ing :D

So it's sheath, not sheaf! :P

Of course I could just get another :) I quite like the leather ones, as you say, it's quieter for when you're Ninja'ing :P

Thanks,
Hobit :)

We will indeed looks like it's going to be good once the flying system is build, some itms are still being manufactured and automation had a slow day, so I go all their time for pre plotting, their loss is my gain  >:D

One of the neighboring theaters purchased a flying system for last year's production of "Scrooge".
Talk about overusing an effect.
But I guess they were just trying to get their money's worth...

I forgot to mention, the Wave is an awesome tool, you won't go wrong getting one  :tu:

Welcome to the forum mate :)

Either tool would serve you well :), but personally I'd go for a Victorinox Swisstool :)

Get a WAVE or Swisstool like mike suggested.

But most crew I know will end up in the pub or somewhere else after a days work, most of us theatre types get into the trade because of the social life that goes with it and are prone to carrying a tool straight from work off into the streets on our belts.

Since the Wave blade is under 3 inches, it should be legal length for the pub.

Wouldn't coming from work count as "good reason" for having a lock blade in possession?

The 3 inch law only applies to Slipjoints .If a blade is 1 inch and locks your still going to need a very good reason to carry .

I'd vote the Wave over the Gerber .Like Dave I have both ( Although Mines a MP600 ) and the Gerber is a good tool but the Wave has the edge for me .

Your quite right . You have to have a reason even for a slipjoint .Then again I suppose it depends on where the bar is  ;)

Hummm..my take would be that a bar isn't any different from any other public place so I don't see why not.  Of course the bar itself is perfectly within its right to refuse you entry for any reason and a great deal of common sense should be applied (city centre bar on a friday night would just be asking for it IMO).
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Yes aslong as your not sinking pints  :D It doesn't bother me , I EDC what I want in my local pubs but I wouldn't in the city or anything . I went bowling Saturday night and lots of beer was drunk  :drink: I EDCed my Sideclip and used it to when I caught my watch on the edge of of the bowling ball rack and the pin that holds the strap in came out  :D
