SwissTool RS
on: May 30, 2007, 01:17:14 AM
I was going to call this thread "Dunc's a Bugger!" but I decided to be nice since he stuck up for me at BF last week...  :pok:

I got a SwissTool RS today that I was going to send on to him, but he got his own somewhere else and now I am forced to keep this one.  I know, I know, the lengths I go to to keep members happy...

Seriously, in case anyone is wondering what the differences are, here is the Original and the RS.  The RS replaces the serrated main blade with the scissors and the metal saw/file with a serrated rescue blade.  Pretty handy little bugger- I think this might be my new EDC, at least for a while.  Thanks SwissMan, wherever you are...

I own the SwissTool and SwissTool X but not the SwissTool RS.

Unlike Dunc, I'm not often in situations that would require a rescue blade.

Like opening the v-cutter on the SOG PowerLock, opening the rescue blade on the SwissTool RS would require two free hands--not the best design for emergency rescue of oneself.

To be honest , neither am I . But what it does make is a very effective rope cutter .But then again have used it in first aid a few times to cut clothing to access  a wound  which it is rather good at .Lots more pics to come when my new one arrives ( Now I've learnt my leason and wont be selling this one  ::) ) .

Dunc

Supratentorial- I have 175 channels and there's still nothing on....

Chap- the X model has the file and the scissors.  The S is a designation for a Spirit model with the standard SAK type drop point blade.

Mickey- I am not certain about the size of the blade compared to a Safari Hunter because I don't actually have a Safari Hunter!

Dunc- thanks for saving me from making the same mistake of selling mine! :D

Nope... I would settle for it growing in proportion to my income though!
