Police Issue Torch/Flashlight/BATON
on: December 05, 2009, 01:20:37 PM
I have been keen to nab a 'security' style torch for awhile but retail costs are high & postage of such bulky + heavy items is also pricey.
When I saw a New Old stock Police issue Torch/Baton for $30aus delivered I could not resist  :D :D.

It is a X4 D battery beasty , next to my X2AA army Torch & my X1AA LM Monarch 400.

The OZ Ebay seller described it as a GT Price(USA) made torch, apparently GT Price is no longer operating. My one was part of a lot bought for the Queensland State Police in the 1990's & is new. It weighs with batteries on board a svelte  :P :P 1.1kg/2.4lb  :o :o.

The interesting thing about this torch is the switch can be places at the front , middle or back of the torch. My one will only work with the switch in the middle  . The seller offered to exchange the switch but I am not too fussed.

It is not going to win any Brightness competitions but as an investigating things that go bump in the night devise, I think it will do fine  :D :D + it is a bit of an odd one & no longer being made.Odd , old , retired & cheap, I just can not resist such things  :ahhh :D :D :D

I remember those things , when I was in LE , they used to scare the Doo outta me , way to easy to cause a compound depressed skull fracture .

I Like the idea of the optional switch positions.  You can certainly see it comes out of the same era as Magilte. :)

In Canada that model was marketed under the name of  Code 4 , their was a red iteration for fire types with a beam diffuser , and a black version for Police / security types.
