I saw it on eBay and had to get it. I have never seen one in clear translucent scales offered on eBay before. Not as pretty as the Victorinox knives to be sure.

This I believe is a Traveler.

It almost looks like the Wenger version of Vic's Silver Tech line.  Obviously not though.  What is the tool between the bottle opener and scissors?  I looks like a small screw driver.

Clear scales for Wenger 85mm models have been available on Swiss-knife.com for years.  I keep meaning to order some, but never have for one reason or another!

as a newbie to collecting these this is the one main thing ive noticed as different between the 2.

paul

comparison sig lite SAK and wenger esquire.i prefere the scissor design on the wenger, but both work nice,

I can't remember if it was this forum or Knife Forums SOSAK but there was a long thread comparing the two designs.  I like the back spring design of the Wenger better too, but overall most people liked the Vic scissors.  Not because of the spring though, because the way they cut.  The Vic scissors are more accurate or something along that line.  I forget all the details.  I tried to find the thread but can't.  Maybe someone else will remember.  There is a lot of cross pollination with this form and SOSAK on Knife Forums.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the Wenger scissors are serrated.

Another possible sticking point is the way that the Wenger scissors may work. The action is not a stationary one. As you close the blades, the lever will push the scissors upwards. This could mean that cutting with them wouldn't be as accurate as with the Victorinox, which are not serrated also.

i used the esquires scissors to cut a bandage at work and they work great,i guess the vics ones are easyer to replce parts ,
