Was thinking of getting a Ranger 78 but once I held it I decided its to big to carry in your pocket then I saw the 61,a better option with only 2 layers a real beauty but no saw, then I spotted the Vic Forester, now I don't know what I want anymore, really confusing
That 61 is really a beautiful knife.
Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day,
listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

Thank you, guys!

How do you like it so far Gene? :)

Bob, It's quite comfortable to carry in my backpocket , thinking that it's a multitool and not just a knife. Before this Wenger, I carry a Persistence and sometimes a Native. At the back of your mind, you know it's illegal to carry dedicated knives. This ranger is also  light to carry.

Due to the shaped scales I'm not sure that any of the Rangers will be easy to pocket.  I know I'd never have done it with my 78.  The Vic 111mm's are much flatter and I could certainly see myself pocketing my Forester.

It's a nice looking SAK though Teofilo. :tu:

What kind of pockets do you guys have?

It's no breeze, true, but I can stuff a Swissgrip in my pocket if I have to. My dad often packs his 2D Maglite in his (though it does stick out, obviously)

As for New Rangers, I can only wish Wenger had released the line ten years ago. Still, they're gonna be all over the place soon enough. Legal or not, every security officer I've ever met was extremely lenient on SAK and multi owners. So what if it's the size of a baby shark? If I wanted to shank some poor soul, I'd go with a screwdriver and not bother shopping for multis...

Another question Gene; what is your opinion of the pocket clip? It has an unusual shape, and I'm trying to decide if it would be a good thing or not? ???

Bob, that's right . That clip is unusual. That's the first thing I noticed when I got the tool.
But that clip was one of the reasons why I bought it: for pocket carry. I wished they made the space in between (the clip and scale), narrower. It almost slipped out of my backpocket.

I hate the clip, it's too fat. I was constantly banging it and having it get caught. The Vic clip is much better but the method of attachment to the scales on the Vic leaves a lot to be desired. It's only spring tension and mine keeps getting cocked off to the side.
