There are quite a few people on here that seem to have the CampFlame or the SwissFlame.  There cool, but many seem to have had problems with the lighter, fuel and refilling technique are reported to be important.

I think they are rare here in the US because of importation problems with butane lighters or just the butane.  Not something I'd ever carry, but interesting nonetheless :sak:

all jet flame lighters need good quality fuel or after a while they get clogged up.  Colibri is a good brand to use.

Here is my Swiss Flame (the one with scissors; Camp Flame has saw in lieu of scissors).....I found it a year ago at an underground market in Seoul, South Korea.  It does NOT work....even after filling, draining, and refilling it again.

The owner of the Victorinox store that I frequent (and some on this forum are direct recipients from this shop earlier this year), has one, too.  He told me last week that his has never worked either.

No wonder they aren't made anymore!!!  And no, mine is NOT for sale, either.

I got one off ebay a few months back.  They pop up from time to time, and one shop had NOS for sale this last year as well (Can't remember which country they were in).

I got one around June (NIB), but the lighter didn't work, so I returned for warranty. Since it couldn't be repaired, they offered me a new SwissChamp which I took, and I'm glad I did.

If you want one, the best idea would be to buy a broken one and replace most of the lighter parts with parts from a generic jet lighter.  That is, provided the fuel tank isn't the culprit for the unreliability, as I would imagine it is a special shape to fit in there.  The probable culprit is the jet nozzle though, as in these kind of lighters they tend to get clogged as they are very fine.

I will just stick to my zippo though  :tu:

I have three Victorinox lighter SAKs.  I've made a point of not bothering to try any of them.  That way I can allow myself to believe they all work fine :D

I have the Swissflame. I ordered it from a knife shop in Switzerland several years ago. It worked when I got but I haven't tried it in a couple of years. Wasn't there a larger SAK too. Seems like it was a XXL Swisschamp or something?

I would definately want one if they were a little smaller and it could be pocket carried. Kinda cool thought behind it.

You should definetly get it, it should not be left sitting in the shop.  Many people here would be interested.  I'm interested at around $100 US, but i think many will pay more for a new one.
