this morneing I got a Wenger SI, when I looked at the tang stamp it was dated 04, this makes me wonder where it has been for the last 5 years :think:

Maybe the blade was laying at the bottom of the container and they finally got to that one. Either that or it was in the store stock room for that long and they finally got down to that box of them.

Or my favorite..........The gift giver time traveled back and picked it up for you.   :tu:

2004 seems to be a very common year for Wenger SI, I came across a few and own one as well  :cheers:

Mine's an 04 too , bought it last summer .

I'll bet some outfit went into liquidation an dumped a pile of them on the market at the same time .

Maybe for some reason Wenger produced more that year or the Army ordered too many  :think:

western manufactures have never been great at JIT manufacturing, and tend to end up with significant excess stock at times.
