KF4 down under?
on: December 28, 2009, 12:07:10 PM
I've just followed a link in another thread to Leathermans Australian site

http://www.leatherman.com.au/

Where they still seem to be showing the KF4 as a production tool, better yet it's shown with two flavors of camo finish.  Any members there there to enlighten me as to if it's still avaiable or just old stock?

Cheers  :tu:

I believe it's just an old page :-\ Seems like a few of our members from OZ have asked about the camo and come up empty handed :( but maybe they will be by in a  few to clarify :tu:

It sure doesn't look old. The page is showing the ST300 which as we all know is the latest model plus the KF4 is not listed as a retired model.

I phoned Zen directly some time ago & the person I spoke to said the Camo Juice's were a limited release. I asked if they had any left? they said 'NO' would they do another run of Camo Juices? 'NO'. The chap I spoke too was not at all interested in discussing Camo Juices with me  :( >:(. I have had more favorable conversations with Zen Imports via emails than phone calls

I think it is a out of date web page , the KF4 has been retired for some time & I would be really surprised if Zen had any KF4's to sell let alone the rare as hens teeth Camo ones  . I would be really keen to hear what they say if they do reply to a email.

To give you some idea, they have the Serac lights listed as "New".

Well, Google Maps shows it as a 13,546 mile trip from the LM factory, by Kayak. So perhaps by the time it got there it was new to them...  :D

Hi,

I asked Zen about the Camo Juice models in August 2008.  Their reply was that they were discontinued roughly five years before that date and no longer exist.

Incidentally, Zen's web site used to camo C2's, S2's & Kf4's.  From what I've heard from both Zen and the dealer that I bought my camo Juices from, the two camo C2's were never made.

I doubt that there were more than a few hundred of S2's and Kf4's made.

Good luck - Joe

A cynical person would think that they only keep them on the LM AU website to try and draw in us poor unsuspecting MT enthusiasts, and then give us the old "Bait and Switch".  ;)

seems like i read a post a while back about them being touchy when one asks about camo tools...something really rare but i can't remember. Like camo Juices i think only available in Oz.
