Yeah - it's quite old I think. I've had a few more since then....

In fact - just found the original - 22nd Feb 2009. So nearly a year old!

Okay, Plierbased wasn't the best description but from my point of view you collect SAKs and/or Multitools...  
But maybe that's just me..

I think that is just you.

A multi-tool is a hand held tool that contains multiple functions therein, often times in a small form factor that is easy to carry, but not always.

Do you not consider these multi-tools?















I do. I consider a Dremel as another example of a multi-tool.

You were vague in your first posting. You should have said only Leatherman style based MTs need only apply.

Yay this old argument!    (Beats the Vic vs LM debate I suppose  ).

We all know that the only intelligent way to classify stuff is with my way  ;

SAK's - Anything made by Vic or Wenger in either the "traditional" SAK set up, or any of their OH lines.
Folders - Any folding knives that contain blades and blades only (Wenger or Vic knives with blades only are still SAK's).
Fixed blades - Any fixed bladed knife.
MT's - Any tool with more than one function that doesn't fit into any of the above.

Therefore, AHB was correct, a SAK is not a MT, it is a SAK which has it's own catergory.
