on: January 13, 2010, 09:45:22 AM
Ok ive had my wave for 12 years, ive thought a few times about getting one and now ive got a kick on the way i thought this could be a useful add on as the kick has less tools, plus would could use this on both LM,'s. but my local camping shop has got one and only one left and he wants £30  :o im sure i can get one for less, at the mo ive no extra money for one but wondered where the best place would be once ive got the money, again guys thanks, uk if possible due to postage cost's

I've got one, it hasn't seen a lot of action yet but it seems to work well :)

Get one , they are versatile . They will also take a fair bit of torque .

Agreed. I bought about 25 of them once, for less than £4 each. I made a killing on them on ebay :)

Those were the days.....

Paul - make sure you get the Universal adapter (sometimes referred to as the Wave adapter) when you get one. There is another very similar looking adapter called the "Standard", and it won't fit your Wave or Kick. Often on ebay, the sellers take the picture from the Leatherman website and get them muddled up. Definitely worth a "Ask seller a question" and get them to tell you the description / product number on the packet!

I learned this one the hard way ;)

I used to come here a lot.

@ zepla - Haha - no, I knew what those ones were ;)

Definitely a nice piece of kit though - especially if you like gadgets. Which, thank the lord......

The Standard is the best bet with the Sideclip, so you use the little notch arrangement. That is so sool :D

Paul - this might be helpful. The old, Standard adapter on the left, the "Removable Bit Driver" (which will fit your Kick, but not your Wave) in the centre, the Universal adapter (that fits everything) on the right!

So for the New Wave I would need the Universal Tool Adapter

Don't think it could ever be justified at the price, not for me anyway  :D

For the new Wave, it's use is limited as you already have a bit driver on there (albeit for the flat bits not proper hex).

I don't carry an adapter round with my Charge - there are very few occasions that I don't have what I need after a few years of fine-tuning the bits I do EDC in reality.
I used to come here a lot.

im the same, when i got my wave in 98 i was looking through the little catalog and saw the adapter and thought bet that would be handy, well 12 years later and i still havnt got one, i think its time, plus with having the kick and hopefully more this year i should get some use out of it,
