Help me complete my Nessmuk trio .
on: January 22, 2010, 03:44:46 PM
I have a couple of Granfors Burks hatchets , so that base is covered . The folder would be a Farmer . My problem is the FB . At present I carry a Brock Street Weasel - a good deffensive tool but not really a bushcraft knife . In all fairness it has given good outdoor service , hunting /fishing and woods bumming .

I like Scandis with a bit of micro convexing . I would prefer a full tang . I'm thinking about a Groman , or possibly a BRKT Liten Bror . Any others I should think about ? I have a couple of Moras , which I use as shop knives , but I want something a bit tuffer for the great outdoors .

Are there any Fallkinivens I should look at ? Beckers might be another avenue , as are RAT's .

Chris

Spyderco hossom dayhiker is a great deal right now. Had a grohmann #1 but hated it, the handle is way too thin, feels like holding a toothbrush and my hands get tired very quickly. Plus the steel is pretty soft.

The most popular Fallkniven for Bushcraft seems to be, by far, the F1.  I don't own one myself but I have used them a couple of times and it seems a fine knife.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

The F1 would be the one I'd go for as it's by far the best bushcraft blade I've used to date :tu:
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

The Fallkniven F1 is an incredible knife.  I also have the S1, but I prefer the F1.

Maybe check out Bark River's Canadian Special or if you want to go RAT, the RC4 is a good size.
