I won't be able to join the challenge, but I must say that I just finished reading the Percy Jackson series and that series is now in my top 5. Absolutely loved the book.I also just discovered the whole world of audio books too...now the commute to work doesn't seem so bad

Quote from: Mercury on October 15, 2010, 07:14:24 AMThe lost throne-Chris Kuzneski(read this!!!!)Brief synapsis perhaps?I know it is late in the year, and there is no way I could read enough to hit 100, but from tent reading, and late nights my list reads:Digital Fortress - Dan BrownConfessions of an Economic Hitman - John PerkinsThe Secret History of the American Empire - John PerkinsThe God Delusion - Richard Dawkinsgod is not Great - Christopher HitchensEnder's Game - Orson Scott CardEnder's Shadow - Orson Scott CardShadow of the Hegemon - Orson Scott CardMarch Upcountry - David Weber/John RingoMarch to the Sea - David Weber/John RingoMarch to the Stars - David Weber/John RingoWe Few - David Weber/John RingoStone of Tears - Terry GoodkindTemple of the Winds - Terry GoodkindNaked Empire - Terry GoodkindChainfire - Terry GoodkindPhantom - Terry GoodkindThe Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar WildeThe Adventure's of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (camp favourite, read about 5 times this summer)
Update time:36. Testimony - Anita Shreve - Anita Shreve writes simple striking stories that are easy to read. Probably fall into the girly catagory.37. Body Surfing - Anita Shreve - Far too wishy washy for my tastes. Too much imagery and not enough plot!38. Eden Close - Anita Shreve - Very interesting story with a good twist in the tale, by far the most "male" of her books. Written from a man's perspective.39. Purple Hibiscus - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - Slow to start but an interesting glimpse into Nigerian life.40. The 19th Wife - David Ebershoff - LDS murder mystery, interesting but I started to scan over the historical parts as I found them less interesting.41. The Wild Gourmets: Adventures in Food and Freedom by Guy Grieve and Thomasina Miers - Interesting project, some interesting meal ideas and basic bushcrafty type skills. For those that would like ideas on how to incorporate foraged food into their diet, rather than a bushcraft instruction manual. Perhaps a beginners guide or something to get your foody friend interested in the potential of outdoors.I'm sure I've read more but forgot to write them down. Will scout about and see if there are any lying around! I must remember to write them down before I give them away. Not a chance I'm going to hit 100 by the end of the year! I've spent far more time making things (homemade christmas this year!) in the last few months, than I usually do, and less time reading. I'm aiming for 50 now!Shane769 - Did you enjoy The Picture of Dorian Grey? If you like that kind of fiction, have you read King Solomon's Mines? One of the best adventure stories ever written. I read it as a teenager (pre Indiana Jones etc) and was blown away by it. My teenage son is reading it now and loving it also. I can't wait for him to finish so I can read it again. Great tent reading! Nuphoria has just read Ender's Game and has been raving about it.
