That's incredible!

After trying/using/abusing my cheap LED's for a long time, some have impressed me sooo much that I've ordered two of those too!

And wouldn't you know it......

Those are EXACTLY the ones I have two of !!!

This is almost ridiculous! I must have had  over 40+ inexpensive lights; and those are the only repeated ones I have!!

Well there's one exeption to all this....I have three of the Romisens :D

Unfortunately for my wallet now I only buy name brand lights(Nitecore, NOVATAC, JetBeam, LiteFlux, etc) but those lights still hold their own.

Great Selection

It is a mini thrower, Bob. The others are more on flood.

What is the Ultrafire, an A10? Tell me a little more about it. That is the one I don't have. And you know, we can't have that!

OK. So why are these so cheap compared to their Fenix equivalents?

What isn't as good?

Yes, that's an Ultrafire A10, Paul. It is single mode with Q5 emitter. The main reason that this is one of my faves is that it is very bright on any kind of AA battery. You can seldom find a 1xAA budget light as bright as this one. It is even so much brighter on 14500. I am very particular about build quality and I am happy with this. The thread on both ends are smooth and it feels solid.

For me it's the anodizing finish that isn't as good. Fenix has HA III while most budget lights are only HA II.

Not all budget lights are as good as the ones I featured in this thread. Based on my experience these are some of the lights that have higher overall quality.

Hi DonVito!

1&2 - Romisen RC-A4 - very bright on either CR123 and RCR123, 3 modes no memory, has deep OP reflector
hence it is a good thrower

3&4 - Akoray K-109    - also very bright on either CR123 or RCR123, 5 modes with memory, a good balance
                                 of throw and spill

5     - Akoray K-106   - with green o-ring and rubber cap, also bright on any kind of AA and extremely bright on
14500, 5 modes with memory, a good balance of throw and spill

6     - Akoray K-106  - with orange o-ring and rubbber cap, programmable, 3 modes with memory that can
                               be customized.

7     - UF A10           - single mode, bright on any AA and extremely bright on 14500.

8.    -Small Sun        - I am not satisfied with its brightness on AA, bright enough on 14500.

So are we saying these lights are good?

I like the Romisen RC-A4 and have found it for sale for £9-28 Free Shipping from Hong Kong.

http://www.bestofferbuy.com/romisen-rca4-cree-q3wc-3mode-150lumen-led-flashlight-black-1cr123a-p-28932.html

Is it recommended? Also what are the 3 modes?

I highly recomend it. The three (3) modes are hi, medium and strobe.

I like that Romisen RCA4 as well.  Will have to get one now... :D  I just bought the Ultrafire a10b which is slightly different than the a10 model. (a10b has 5 modes instead of 1).

I just order a couple of cheapies from these guys: http://www.ledshoppe.com/

They haven't arrived yet but I found decent reviews of their service, so I thought it was worth a punt :)

Hello there kabayan!

This one http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.28545 is more efficient and it is equally bright on lithium primary and RCR123. Newer models are cheaper than the older ones.
