SOG ParaWrench
on: January 06, 2010, 07:23:45 AM
This is a mod i did round the time i officially joined the forum. been testing it out the last few month and very happy with it. (Well i stll don't have a locking paratool but give it time...)

I present zeParaWrench.

for those wh don't recognise it, its a Inventek versa wrench gutted of its useless china bits non-locking tools and has a sog paratool snuggly in its handle. Originally i was going to gut it to make a hollow stash compartment for sockets, 1/4" bits etc to go with the Paratool & Crunch. Well it wasn't going to stash much but i descovered the paratool is a perfect fit. its a shame the same sized crunch could not (cause the paratool plier head bolts run in a different direction to the conventional designs)

Its comfortable to use and suits its purpose. To breathe life into the ol' cars, motorcycles and mechanical things that i use in my adventurous foreign travels.

That's pretty cool Santos! :D The inventek wrench head is built pretty well don't you think? I haven't tried it out much, but the quality seems pretty good. You are right about the "guts" though, best to get rid of them. :salute:

How about a picture showing the inside without the ParaTool? :)

Your wish is my command..

i do agree.. the wrench part itself is superb. Knd of wishing i had a CNC machine so i could a one piece handle. Not cause its uncomfortable but i tend to dislodge seized nuts by putting a length of pipe on the end of the wrench... then jumping :o

Thanks! :)

I wonder how well it would work to pop the scales off a swiss army knife and bolt it up in there?  (But which model would be the right width?)

if you going to make thats sort of effort you might as well go the final step and scratch build it with sak components.
I can't be sure atm but the handle rivets spacing looks to match the 111mm victorinox. If that was the case then i you could probably fit a 5 layer sak (providing you don't use the thicker tools like pliers).. hmmm locking blade.....

Well that would sort of make it the back-up's-back-up's-Back-up's back up blade

and thats being generously short.
