Arc AAA Led Light.. Huh?
on: January 13, 2010, 01:51:07 AM
I was getting ready to pull the trigger on an Arc AAA When I read the wording on their site. It states that it is Normal for their lights to have an off centered beam & other irregularities in the beam pattern!! Huh? For 30.00 Bucks it should be near perfect IMHO. Anyone have problems with the Arc AAA or is this just a CYA approach.

I have a few Arc AAA lights.   At least one of them came with the hotspot noticeably off center., although Arc claims it is within their spec.   :-[

GG is Great  :tu: My ARK P has a nice, centered beam. A great backup/key chain light.

Glad to hear that! Thanks for posting that info. I intend to use the Arc as an EDC. I have read that it gets the job done. I really don't like the high lumen lights that much as I don't need that kind of powerful lighting. I understand that some want this in the Tactical sense though.

I've got one (care of GG :tu:) and there a pukka light :)

I think mine's pretty damn close to center anyway, certainly not enough to bother me :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Glad to hear that nothing is terribly wrong if anything with the Arc. I can't wait to use it on a dark night in the middle of no where. I live in the country & it gets real dark here with no city streetlights only the moon & stars!

You will be amazed out how much light you will get out of that sucker when it's really dark. It has saved my butt many times. A truly great backup light.  :tu:

I have one (AAA-Snow) that I carry around my neck 24/7.  It has a perfect beam.  If I remember correctly, that statement was added to the ARC site when the GS versions came out.  They were having some difficulty centering the emitters properly due to the different shape, and some folks complained.  That seems to have been sorted out since...

You're gonna love that ARC.

Yep its mostly a problem with the premium (GS LED)  version. There was a lot of talk about it on CPF when they released them. Some people find the earlier DS LED version better . I have a Streamlight Nano with a Nichia GS LED and I hate the beam...

What don't you like about it Cuso? Just curious about the GS version vs the DS version. Is it the blue light beam or what?
