Yeah, you´re right, they aren´t Mini, but not a fullsize Prybar :D
I forgot, i´m gonna trim out the ends, so you can use it as a screwdriver, flathead of course.
bigger ones are 20cm/8inch smaler 15cm/6inch, 15 and 25mm wide, D2 Steel, gets differently heat threated on both end, middle stays soft as it is.

Here in Germany, you can send it to almost any knifemaker, i send mine to a Blacksmith i happen to know from a forum.
There are companies who specialices in. If you contact a knifemaker in your area, i´m sure he can help you in some way ;-)

Hardening is heat treating generally. Hardening the ends only suggests to me that it is done with a flame (oxy-acetylene or similar). Tricky work as it takes a keen eye to get the temperature just right. Flame hardening is not as accurate as using a furnace but for this application it makes a lot of sense.

Those are some nice looking bars. I've made some smaller ones that are similar and they are very handy to have near. Now I'm thinking an 8 inch one would be nice in the top of the ol' tool box. The paracord finishes them nicely.

More pics?

pics are coming, send them for hardening today.

I send them to a Blacksmith, afaik, he hardens the whole thing in his furnace, packs clay (hope thats the right word) on the parts where it should be softer. This way, this parts stay soft after hardening because they cool down slower.
I´m not the expert on this, sorry folks :)

they are probably black when they are done, should look like this bad boy here:

That makes sense. I've heard of that technique but never tried it myself.

Nice work.

They are done :D

Thought i try something new, i glued the sides of the Kydex together, well, i wont do it again, two did break.
But i fixed it, MacGyver Style :D

well, not really, i glued it again and wrapped tape around it to hold it in place.

I have to sort it all out first, but i think they are all sold and gone, sorry

Best wishes
Robert

Very nice!

btw, I haven't had much success gluing kydex.  I've tried superglue, 2 part epoxy and seam sealer.  It doesn't seem to bond to the kydex very well.   :-\
