New 2010 tools
on: January 14, 2010, 09:23:30 PM
Hi

The new tools by Vic already revealed is

0.8351.C Nomad
0.8361.C Forester
0.8361.MWC Forester one hand
0.8371.MWC Dual Pro ( New Dak has the same features)

The new handles is Dual Density made of two materials red and black
Victorinox sad:
This new multi-tool series is equipped with two component handles in red and black. The side coats attract the attention by their beautiful design and the dual density technology provides them with an outstanding grip.

From before we know the New Soldiers handles with two component injection molded Polyamide 6 hard Green component and TPE-U Soft.

I have received much better pictures of the handles, can not give them to you they are not mine, the surface of the red may have something more to them not sure.
The Dual Pro should have from my info 3 lockable functions, lock for both OH and the big flat screwdriver, this should mean that the tool has two layers of steel that will make this a super strong one.

The last years of Victorinox evolution has showed that the tools is getting more and more perfect in both assembly and surface of the functions.
Best

HI

Can add that the New Dak will have a Phillips instead of the corkscrew ofcourse, going to be interesting to see what the handles will be like.
I find the beltcutter very interesting and need some closer look at the mechanism if or when i will get one.
There is something special with a beltcutter specially designed, the best serrated edges in my mind is the curved like on the RescueTool, Fireman and now the New DAks OH. Hard to judge out from a picture.
This Dual Pro can just as easily be used as safety knife elsewhere. The curve has like a beltcutter a safety reason for preventing damage to a person stuck in belts, yourself or others.
The lock is interesting if, preventing accidental closing of the blade to causing injury.
In my mind this is a paratrooper knife for sure!

There will be some exciting tools in 2010. A tool containing a main blade made of special steel for collector purposes,

Has Wenger released any pics of their 2010 lineup? Or will it be at the SHOT Show again?

That is pretty standard on most models, based on where they are sold.

Righties will especially like the Dual Pro, as the serrated blade has a true right-hand liner lock. :)  (the main blade still has the standard One-Hand Trekker style lock up of course)
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

They do indeed, as does the screwdriver/bottle opener.  (all three are liner locking)

One of my gripes with the Rescue tool was that the curved belt cutter didn't lock . This one looks a good option for me .

I know, it's just funny considering that every time someone shows something, Mike or Ben always follows up with something like "shame it's a locker!"

Why oh why would they leave the serrations on the blade on that Dual Pro.  ::)

I wouldn't buy one for that very reason as even seeing that pic bugs the hell out of me.  :D
