The comparison in quality is pretty much pointless, the chinese spyderco/bm sells for a third or quarter of what u.s. equivalent costs, of course they won't be as high quality.

There was no mention of it at the SOG booth, but I wonder if the move to shift more production to China has anything to do with the buy-out of SOG that occurred earlier this year?

If I've noticed any change, it's the butt loads of "buy this" email from SOG lately, duno what they think of their customers, but 20% off MSRP is still damn expensive compare to street price.

I dont know about this. You can get all the hints from the present sog corp, but they wont be running the show pretty soon. Unfortunatly the survey pretty much gave a hint where the company is headed... China.
