leather sheath for the skeletool
on: January 20, 2010, 01:51:41 PM
The Vic spirit leather sheath fits the skeletool beautifully, I was wondering if anyone else uses a leather sheath for their skeletool (I know its mean to be clipped onto stuff rather than sheath carried, but i'm wierd like that), and if so, what?

I sometimes use one of LM's flat nylon pouches . The last Skeletool NIB I bought actually came with one .I like them as you can do horizontal carry .

You could go for a Leather Wave sheath and have room to fit other goodies in there too .

I would think a medium or small SOG leather pouch would fit it, although it may result in a matter - antimatter explosion

The leather wave sheath may work quite well, but does it normally have space for the bit holder? In which case it will have a LOT of extra room, if not, than I think it would be quite a good fit.

I got a nylon sheath with mine but I don't like it.

I think the nature of Skeletool allows other carry means; clip or carabiner.

Maybe I'll try it with my Wave leather sheath :D

can you report back to us how good a fit, length, width and breadth wise the wave sheath is for the skeletool.

I have tried the Skeletool in the leather Wave sheath.

Widthwise it fits perfect and also lengthwise :D

The breadth of it doesn't fill the sheath but I don't see that as a bad thing especially if you want to use the side and rear pockets on the Wave sheath.
If the sheath was unclipped and you turned it upside down it would fall out but closed it is fine.  :tu:

I think I will use this case if I am carry some other pieces.

Here are some pics

Excellent, so the Wave sheath can be used for the skeletool quite nicely  :tu:

There is the wave and original wave sheath.

I use the original wave sheath.  Seems to work better.

I am assuming the sheath you were testing was an old version?

In which case, I assume this is a new version (although I dunno what the difference is):

If there is a difference (especially in dimensions) can some kind soul test the skeletool in this sheath, and see how good a fit it is?

My Wave is the new model, April 2008 to be precise  :D

I'm pretty sure the sheath in your link is the same as mine.

Oh, in which case, awesome  :D

Will have to buy that case than if I can't find a member who happens to have such a sheath spare, willing to let it go for less.
