I'm a full-time student studying in biological sciences, and am planning to continue on into pharmacy school.  Plan B, however, is to most likely earn a MA in English and teach, although I'd not really be happy with that.  Beyond that, yeah, I have luck finding some hard-to-find stuff at gun and knife shows.  :D

I like to say I'm happily unemployed and living the life of a jolly pirate king, raiding lorry stops for petrol and candy bars, but in truth I'm an oppressed manwife, driving my she-husband to work in the mornings, doing washing & looking after kids.

It really is great what a diverse crowd is here.

I work for a major electronics retail chain (the blue one) as a project functionality technician. Basically i fix and set up what corporate tells me to. Fun sometimes as i get to play with all the toys before they come out. Also i set up satellite, wireless, and all electrical when a new store is being built.

I did touch on the subject previously, but it was basically because my bro had epilepsy and no communication skills so it was kinda my "thing" after just living with him and my Mum for all those years (he is 2 years younger than me).

I also discovered that I didn't actually like customers in my last job either.  :D  I can't stand "normal" people who act like a$$holes and in my last job, being on the road most of the time, I met many.  Where I am now, I am happy to be beaten up, spat at and frequently pee'd or cacked on as these guys can't help it.

I've been a male mummy for going on seven years now.  Looking back from that I was a bunch of schools IT support for about five years, before that a couple of other IT jobs, before that retail electrical, uni., bit more IT support (we're back into DOS/Win3x days now), more retail, office work, lab work, and by now we're back to anything where they'd give me some money :)

Returning to the original post, I amassed most of my collection by buying job lots of old SAKs, pulling the ones I wanted, then cleaning up the rest and selling them on.  The money from said sales went back into the pot.  Since the banning of all knife sales on ebay UK things have slowed down rather a lot  :-\
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

OK, I'll play.

Started in a fruit and veg shop at 12, then paper rounds and then to guitar sales in the west end of London as a teenager which was great fun.

I did a City and Guilds in carpentry and joinery when I was 18 then various other bits and bobs along the way whilst getting seriously in to music myself.

Ended up working as a professional musician for about 15 years, travelling quite a lot and generally being broke but having fun and meeting some very cool people. One of the highlights for me (without going in to a massive list of name dropping), was sitting down and having a drink with Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac :)

I then blew an intellectual fuse and decided it was time for school. Four years later I graduated from medical school with an Hons degree in Medical Science, speSmurfpillsing in cancer genetics.

Then it went pearshaped.... my body decided it didn't want to work very well any more - oh the irony! So since then I have been trying to get off my arse again and find something constructive to do. My current plan is to start volunteering at the local hospital.

That's all folks..... :)
