Hi. I've got two in my collection, still think they're one of the best designs to come out of the industry.

I've working on rehabilitating one of them as we speak. It's dirty, smells funny and is in dire need of a good sharpening. As we all know, step #1 is to take many pictures.  :D

Here's a taste, I'll start a new thread in a few days when I get it all done.

Anyone have any tips for sharpening the serrated blade? My Sharpmaker has proved fruitless so far.

cool pics i look forward to seeing it brought back to life  :tu: and although i cant compare the wave to many other MT's this for me has been a very useful tool for 12 years and hard to replace for me, but i know it has to happen by the end of this year, i still have to decided if to get mine polished up and flathead replaced, or leave its character , i will see,

This is similar to my story,my dad got mine for me in 98 as a B,day present, long story but he left my mum when i was 9 and this is the only thing he has got me, i didnt think it held any sentimental value to me as i didnt see him for 16 years and long story but as he started to do the same to me and my brother to my kids i told him to get lost 4 years ago, well the wave did me more to me than i thought after i sold it and i was lucky the guy sold it back to me so all good in the end, my wave means something to me on a odd level, so im never selling it again, once i get its replacement its going back in its original box  :tu:

very nice allan, thats 3 of us  :tu: im sure there must be lots of OR wave owners, pics and comments welcome  :tu:

for me ive found all the tools on the wave very useful, i like the serrated saw and have used it alot over the years, i use to do custom diecast models and used it for cutting parts, the file was useful as well, i broke the knob of our cooker 2 years ago and had to use pliers to turn it, angie got to grips with the wave for 2 years it lived in the kitchen, then i fitted a new knob, did think it was a waste of a good tool

I have one too, and it's a great tool but I wish the locking was the other way round; if the blades didn't lock and the tool did, it would be perfect EDC!

I'm sure Ben will be a long shortly... ::)

 :D

I have one too, but it never really supplanted the PST.  I think it was mostly because the tool set wasn't THAT different but the tool was significantly larger.

Still, mine's not going anywhere.  ;)

Well actually, it found me. :P A couple years ago I'd been given two busted up Waves by a friend of mine (he's REALLY hard on his tools) who wanted me to take them all apart and make one good one out of the pieces. When I told him about Leatherman's warranty we decided to send them in instead. They sent back two brand new original Waves, one of which was this Edward Double Scissorhands model. :D So he kept the good one and gave this one to me, which was the cooler one IMO anyway. 8)

this is probably a stupid question, but what is so different about the original to the new one?  they look very similar.
