Another "old" wave owner.  Bought this one locally a couple of years ago.  In very nice condition - dated "0500".

A little while after buying this I found a newer generation wave for a good price and gave it to my brother in law.  I found out later that he had another leatherman with the bit driver and other accessories.  I should have kept that one as I think both of his are still in a cupboard somewhere in his shop.

I've never carried this as it is a bit large and heavy for my needs.  It has come in handy around the house however.

John.

SteveC - your first photo would indicate that the SAK could be used as a carpenter's square - it sure looks close to a right angle.  I know the spirits are advertised as having that feature.  Nice photos.

David and Monrogue - thanks.

John.

I won't add the link back, but as of right now Justin just does holsters for the new model Wave. I am actually shipping my Original Wave to him tomorrow so he can redesign the holster to fit the original Wave.

He has been great to deal with. Hope he gets permission to advertise here!

Love the Original Wave. This is what I grab for most jobs around the house. Nice balance of size and functionality. If it had outsize scissors it would have been the perfect tool for me.

I'm in a second time :D
This one's dated 0598 and 0698, so early on in the production.  I wanted one of these ones as my other one is 0802 and has some differences.  I will have to compare them tonight when I can see them together.

This one's in great shape overall, with little usage from what I can tell.  Mostly just been carried I'd guess.  The PE blade could use some sharpening, but that's it.

Great pics Monrogue  No matter how much better the new Wave is than the old Wave in certain aspects, the old Wave feels better opened and closed in hand :D If they could have kept the shape closer to the older design and put in the better plier head an got some of the flat heads out for a bit driver and made all the insdie tools lock then the older one would have the newer design beat  Needless to say I still love my new Wave as well ;) :D

Thanks!  I sort of prefer the old one actually.  I'm not a big fan of bits in my MTs, although they have come in handy on occasion.

I tried carrying my newer BO Wave in the included Molle sheath tonight. I hated it!  The Molle sheath flops around too much (have to carry it in vertical position as my work belt is too wide for horizontal carry...) and is too hard to open.

So, back to my original Wave. I can carry it in either my newer or older leather sheath, or as preferred, in my nylon Supertool sheath with Velcro flap and metal belt clip.

Like others here, I prefer the feel of the original Wave.  So the BO newer Wave goes back in the drawer....

Why put the BO Wave away if you are carrying the OG Wave in a Nylon sheath. Just carry the BO Wave in the Nylon sheath.

Also why not get a nylon Wave sheath since the Supertool sheath is larger than the Wave sheath?

Everything said was about the sheath not the actual tool though.
