This year at SHOT Bob and I stopped at the Spyderco booth, as we always do. This year however we had a couple of pleasant surprises. First, we met Mike Janich, a name that should be familiar to any tactical or fighting knife enthusiast:

The other surprise was this new slip joint version of Spyderco's infamous Police Model!

Bob and I were lucky enough to get a sample of the latest version of the Police model.

The handles are stainless and the blade wasn't available with the Spyderedge.

Spyderco never claimed it was aimed at the UK market, but based on the lack of a lock mechanism indicates that it was at least part of the planning process. And, since the standard Police Model is too long to be legal in the UK, this one has been scaled down slightly. Here it is next to an 85mm Wenger S557:

Mind you, if Ben is any indication of what the average Brit is capable of, I doubt it will be long before we get to test this knife's corrosion resistance when it comes in contact with polar bear blood.

And, if you can't tell by now, this entire post was a joke. Spyderco handed these little knives out as a promo at the show!
