Just checked CRKT's website & the Ta-Bar looks like it is being called the SpareTool (I preferred Ta-Bar  :().
Still listed as $19.99 8) 8). BUT 'Product Coming Soon'  ::) ::) maybe CRKT is adopting SOG's product release plan  :( :(.

Perhaps it's just me, but does the SpareTool look smaller than the Ta-Bar?

This looks like a great tool  :tu:

I'd be up for a MTO model or if not just in for a group buy :D

Ta-Bar sounds waaay better than Spare Tool  ::)

The Ta-Bar tool has been officially renamed to the Spare Tool.  There were no other changes made, and it is otherwise exactly as you see it in the pictures above.  The name was changed because of a shocking similarity to another knife company.  I'm certain you can figure out which one that is on your own!  :D

Availability is August/September, and I feel very confident in saying there will likely be a Multitool.org version as well.  :D

I can't say as I'm fond of the new name either, but folks who drive much nicer cars than me decided on it, so who am I to argue?  :P

Fair point Def ;)  But considering "spare tool" is actually a minor insult round my way I'll not be able to purchase one.  Well, that and the fact that I think its a bloody stupid design ::)

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Thanks Def   , nicer cars than your Jeep  :o :o , no way  :D :D :D

Well when I get one(MTO of-course  :D) when ever I pull it out of the sheath I am going to do my best show man's voice & say  "Ta Bar", being careful , as I do it ,to not injure myself or anyone else in close proximity  :D :D :D. It would add to the show though if I did  :D :D :D

No problem Mat ol' buddy!  Any time you have any of that nasty, useless money stuff and you need to trade it in on a shiny new tool, you just let me know and I'll help you find something suitable!

I guess mine is a bit of a collectible now, since it's still called the Ta-Bar Tool!  :D

Also, it's nice to see they added a belt loop.

Also, I think Travis is getting some in that should be posted in the Multitool.org store on EDCSource... :D
