Cara cara 2 hit a nice low price so I got one, very sharp, seems like there's a little blade play, guessing its common, tightening pivot screw didn't affect it. Does endura have this also?
Can't afford it either way, but just curious.

Doesn't have a endura, but I did have a Pacific Salt, beat it a lot for years and is solid like a rock

Can't afford it either way, but just curious.

Had two different Enduras over the years and a Delica, Dragonfly and a Stretch.

Never had a hint of blade play with any of em.

Only used a buddies Tenacious a couple of weeks in Afghanistan one time but that one was tight also.

My collection numbers about 150, half of them SAKs, no MTs. At least 10 Spyderco, 1 Cold Steel (Pocket Bushman).

black or yellow, I like both

This seems like a good placeto ask.

Why all the love for the Pacific Salt?

Thinking about grabbing one to give SE another chance.

I'll only talk for myself but:

- One of the longest blade lengths for the weight you can find, in Spyderco and other brands
- No liners or steel in the handle to accumulate dirt, water, lint, etc. while still durable and sturdy
- Big Spyderhole for easy opening with either hand, and with or without gloves
- Very thin body due to lack of liners, very lightweight to carry in any pants, shorts, sport clothes, swimsuit, etc. without pulling it down
- Tougher tip than PM2, Military etc. to resist more torque and stand up to abuse, and not puncture rafts, boats, lifesavers etc.
- FRN with special texture for grippy, secure, easy to wash and maintain handle that is affordable, resistant, lightweight and reliable
- Backlock is arguably the strongest lock type, and this one has a Boye dent for safer use, easy to use with both hands
- Yellow colorful handle ---> friendlier looking, easier to spot, not the typical boring black, can be RIT-dyed to another color
- Affordable, always available for $70-80 new
- Rust proof period. Sand, grit, lint, dirt, mud, water, oils, acids, chemicals, this one won't rust or pit, neither the blade nor the hardware
- Clip (Current one):swappable with a coin, no need of screwdrivers, is a tough clip, rustproof and hourglass type for better ergonomics in hand
- The steel will hold a great edge for long in SE configuration, is very tough and won't chip easily, can be sharpened quickly to scary sharp
and

- Comes in big size (Pacific), Small size (Salt I) and other formats (DF2 Salt, Tasman, Spyderhawk)

I definitely recommend it,  :tu: especially the older model. In 2018 they changed the handles to the Endura 4 type handles and new clip with three torx screws, both changes for the worst IMO  :salute:

Endure handle? Lame. Did the changes come with a name change so I can try and find the older version? Don’t hate the Endurance handle but would like to try the Pacific Salt handle.

RIT dye the yellow handle you say? Last thing I need is another black knife.

The pre 2018 model has the handle of the Endura 3rd Generation  :tu:

The new model introduced this year has the Endura 4th Generation handle, which is differently shaped and has a finger choil much more pronounced towards the pivot (which doesn't fit my hand as nicely  :P), as well as a triple-screw clip mounting system

and no need to RIT dye it black, you can make it green, red, purple, blue, orange, etc. :salute:
Here is a Yellow RIT dyed Tasman  ;)

Well for me the reason is simple I only have 2 :D I prefer a PE blade and my other Spydie is a full SE Endura ;)

All the rust proofness and lightweight stuff are all just pluses for me though :D

Cant complain much about this guy, for $20 it's pretty nice, I get a few miss-fires when opening with middle finger or thumb flick, but I imagine it will loosen up over time, It's also a lot lighter weight then I thought it would be and very sharp. can do the one handed closing trick as well.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob
