Haven’t bought a new Spydie in years now which is saying a lot because I used to buy at least 2-3 a month!

I’ve been carrying my Pacific Salt (H1), black on black, for quite a while now. I’ve found that H1 is my perfect blade steel and the Salt series will be my carry probably forever. It’s all I could ask for and the Pacific Salt checks all the boxes for me!

In enjoying trying new steels, this laminate “san mai” type is a cost effective way to get a tough blade that does most things well.

Yes it’s a V-Toku2 Manbug along with a Delica to go with the Endura I got a few weeks ago.

it definitely is my perfect folder so far (3 1/2 years now with it)  ::)

all the Salts are good, but the Pacific remains the most carried

Visited the Mothership today:

Really nice folks there.

I was impressed to see a case of sweet looking Randall knives for sale there.

Several interesting displays about specific models and some tribute knives.

Fun place to visit, but I couldn’t talk my way into a factory tour.

While I was talking with some staff, I noticed a few people walk in and get their knives resharpened on the spot.

I’m in the early stages of a Wave challenge, but a sprint-run Manix 2 is now traveling with us.

that Burl Manix sure has polarizing scales  :o. It's a love or hate thing, from what I've gathered  :like:
The Golden factory seems to be full of nice people, and I've heard that they tend to be quite friendly there, and of course you always come out with a new blade or Spyderco gadget  :D

about Maxamet, it seems to be a really hard steel, difficult to work with, and Sal himself has stated they halted production of blades with it because they ran into issues with warped blades, incorrect heat treatment and extreme wear of the machines and belts  :ahhh
They (Spyderco) are pioneers in using this steel and that comes at a price, lots of rejected blades and production issues  :P

I'll be happy with my H1 and simple 8Cr13MoV blade for now...

Glad you had a nice time there and you seem to be having a very enjoyable trip!!

got this tenacious about a month ago, was hoping unlocking would get easier after constant flipping, the detent and lockbar are amazingly strong, it only got fractionally better so I disassembled and cleaned some stuck on gunk from blade under the washer, seems a little better. my thumb feels like the hulks now from playing with this for a month and when I use other knives lock bars seem too easy. I guess I could have bent the bar a little when I had it apart but was afraid of messing it up.
